Great Lakes Heritage Quilters See Bloomfield Hills

Bloomfield Hills
Great Lakes Heritage Quilters
We meet on the 2nd Thursday evening of each month, September through June at Birmingham Unitarian Church, 38651 Woodward Ave, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304 . Meetings start at 7 pm, with the exception of our December and June Potluck meetings which begin at 6:30. At each of our meetings, we have a program, a business meeting, and everyone’s favorite – show & tell. Our guild invites locally, nationally, and internationally known speakers for workshops and lectures!  We feature hybrid meetings during the months of September, October, November, April, and May.  During these months we meet in-person at the Birmingham Unitarian Church and offer Zoom to those who cannot join in-person or live out of the area.  In January, February, and March we only meet via Zoom. For the last few years, we hold a virtual mystery quilt-a-long where weekly clues are emailed to participants, we hold weekly virtual stitch sessions, and then meet to solve the mystery and finish our quilt tops!  We have several small groups where members are working on a common project, such as an Orange Peel, Pickle Dish, Jelly Roll, or Collage quilt. We strive to host a quilt show every 2 years. Quilters of all ages and experience levels are welcomed! We have about 120 members and guests are always welcome to our meetings! Check out our website for more info or contact GLHQpresident@gmail.com.
Comments: We have members primarily in the Oakland County and Macomb County area, however, many of our members who moved away are still able to be a part of our guild because we have hybrid Zoom meetings!  We are well known for the quality of our Zoom meetings, great speakers, and friendly members!
