Quilting Corners Guild is a new group welcoming all levels of quilters. We meet the first Tuesday of the month from Feb until Dec with no Jan meeting. Our meetings are held at St. Johns United Church in Alliston. We have run Block of the Month, Tinners, and Mystery Quilt. Our Guild of about 50 members is made up of many different skill levels and our events try to cater to all levels. Membership is $35/year and visitors are welcome at every meeting ($5.00 charge). Arnprior & District Quilters' Guild. We have 97 members who meet from September to June on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Christian Education Center on 257 John Street N., Arnprior from 7:00 to 9:00. The cost to join is $20. We have a block-of-the-month draw, a monthly charm squares swap, a block design challenge, a "strippies" club, a "tinners" group, and a monthly guest speaker. We take the blocks submitted to our Block Challenge and make them into two charity quilts for raffle. Buckhorn Area Quilters Guild. We have a membership of 60 and our annual dues are $25.00. Haliburton Highlands Quilt Guild. We have about 80 members who pay $25 a year in dues. We meet at 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month. Meetings are held at Camp Adelaide in Haliburton from September to June and at Stanhope Community Centre in Minden for July and August. In addition to the regular meetings with speakers and programmes we do a lot of charity quilting: lap quilts for seniors, placemats for Meals on Wheels, quilts for the breast cancer auction, other community quilts. Lake of the Woods Quilter's Guild. We have 125 members who pay $25 a year dues. We meet at 7pm on the second Thursday of the month at the St. Louis Catholic Church hall at 912 Superior St. in Keewatin. We provide some type of education at each meeting, such as round robin demos of gadgets and techniques, small quilted projects, or quilt slide shows. We host an annual mini quilt auction with profits split between a local charity and the guild education fund. We bring in 2-4 workshops a year and put on a quilt show every year. Linda Clark

The Region of York Quilters Guild began in 1985 with 25 members. Our membership has grown to 175 today and we now boast some nationally and internationally renowned quilters and teachers. We meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month from September through May. We host a major quilt show every two years and hold an annual quilting retreat on alternate years. As a guild we support many local charities through our "Outreach Committee" have supplied quilts to local police forces, women's shelters and preemie units in our local hospitals. The Toronto Quilter's Guild. A brand new guild starting up September 2007. Focus is on Canadian quilt history, Canadian blocks and quilting traditions.
